Microsoft Wants People to Stop Using Internet Explorer 6

Microsoft Urging People to Shift to Latest IE Versions

Even though Internet Explorer 9 is now out in beta form, Microsoft estimates that 12 percent of Internet users are still using the 10 year old version of Internet Explorer 6. In response, Microsoft has launched a website asking people to stop using the outdated browser.

Most Internet users have moved on from Internet Explorer 6 to either a higher version, or to browsers like Safari or Chrome. Microsoft would like to cute the number of Internet Explorer 6 users to less than one per cent. They want people to change over to the new Internet Explorer 9.

Part of the reason they are so adamant about getting rid of the Internet Explorer 6 browser is that last year France and Germany spoke out against it when that version was plagued with an attack from several viruses and Trojans malicious software.

So, if you know an Internet Explorer 6 user, then get your friend or coworker to stop right now and download a different browser.
